Podemos clasificarlas en funci\u00f3n de varios criterios. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-b23ade86\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion exclusive\">\n<details class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Los m\u00e9todos de secuenciaci\u00f3n de segunda generaci\u00f3n se basan en el principio del \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shotgun_sequencing\">shotgun sequencing<\/a>\u00ab, y requieren la fragmentaci\u00f3n del DNA en estudio, pero lamentablemente la longitud de las lecturas es corta (short-read sequencing), por lo que determinados tipos de mutaciones no son identificables (STR, delecciones o duplicaciones, etc.). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Los m\u00e9todos de tercera y cuarta generaci\u00f3n se han desarrollado con el objetivo de superar esta limitaci\u00f3n, por lo que tambi\u00e9n se llaman <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Third-generation_sequencing\">long-read sequencing<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item\"><summary class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__title\"><div>Tipo de captura.<\/div><\/summary><div tecnolog\u00eda utilizado, las decisiones cl\u00ednicas que deberemos tomar en caso de no obtener resultados diagn\u00f3sticos definitivos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-20492723\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion exclusive\">\n<details class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item\"><summary class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__title\"><div>Panel de genes.<\/div><\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Implica el an\u00e1lisis de un m\u00e1ximo de 200 genes aproximadamente. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permite el estudio de enfermedades con variabilidad genot\u00edpica, pero requiere de la generaci\u00f3n de una hip\u00f3tesis previa (phenotype first approach). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limita significativamente el n\u00famero de hallazgos no relacionados con el problema a estudio, as\u00ed como las variantes de significado incierto. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item\"><summary class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__title\"><div>Estudio de secuenciaci\u00f3n del exoma cl\u00ednico\/dirigido\/mendelioma<\/div><\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Consiste en el an\u00e1lisis de todas las regiones codificantes (las regiones codificantes suponen el 1% del genoma, y acumulan el 80% de las variantes patog\u00e9nicas conocidas) para las que se han descrito previamente genes relacionados con enfermedad (aquellos genes con funci\u00f3n desconocida no aportan informaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednicamente relevante a\u00fan cuando descubramos variantes patog\u00e9nicas). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permite el estudio sin plantear una hip\u00f3tesis previa (genotype first approach), y implica el an\u00e1lisis de m\u00e1s de  4000 genes (dependiendo de la evoluci\u00f3n del conocimiento cient\u00edfico, actualmente en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omim.org\/statistics\/entry\">OMIM <\/a>ya superan los 6000), lo que equivale a un tama\u00f1o de unas 10 Mb. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permite la detecci\u00f3n de variantes no codificantes flanqueantes (variantes en 3&#8242; o 5&#8242; UTR). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No permite el uso con fines de investigaci\u00f3n de genes con funci\u00f3n no conocida, ya que no se incluyen, ni permitir\u00e1 por tanto el rean\u00e1lisis de dichos genes, ya que no se ha obtenido su secuencia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>El rean\u00e1lisis de los datos tras varios a\u00f1os puede ser de inter\u00e9s, ya que el n\u00famero de genes estudiado hace que puedan no haberse descrito variantes patog\u00e9nicas que ser\u00e1n descubiertas en un futuro. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ofrece un buen equilibrio entre el riesgo de variantes de significado incierto y la rentabilidad diagn\u00f3stica sin disparar los costes econ\u00f3micos y de trabajo del an\u00e1lisis de un exoma completo o un genoma. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item\"><summary class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__title\"><div>Estudio de secuenciaci\u00f3n del exoma.<\/div><\/summary><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Permite la detecci\u00f3n de variantes en las regiones codificantes para prote\u00ednas, tanto en genes ya relacionados con patolog\u00eda como en aquellos en los que no se ha descrito, por lo que implica el an\u00e1lisis de m\u00e1s de 20.000 genes, lo que equivale a un tama\u00f1o de unas 100 Mb. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permite la detecci\u00f3n de variantes no codificantes flanqueantes (variantes en 3&#8242; o 5&#8242; UTR). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permite la formulaci\u00f3n de hip\u00f3tesis de investigaci\u00f3n, y el descubrimiento de nuevas enfermedades y de funciones no conocidas de genes que actualmente a\u00fan no est\u00e1n bien descritos. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permite el rean\u00e1lisis de los datos en busca de nuevo conocimiento tras varios a\u00f1os desde la realizaci\u00f3n del estudio sin necesidad de obtener nuevas muestras. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eleva significativamente el coste en t\u00e9rminos econ\u00f3micos y en trabajo. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eleva significativamente la probabilidad de hallazgos de significado incierto y hallazgos inesperados, por lo que es recomendable la realizaci\u00f3n del estudio en trio para cruzar la informaci\u00f3n familiar de forma automatizada. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item\"><summary class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-accordion-item__title\"><div>Estudio de duplicaciones (de ex\u00f3n \u00fanico). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permite la detecci\u00f3n de variantes estructurales (translocaciones, inserciones, delecciones, y sus puntos de ruptura). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Es el proceso m\u00e1s costoso en t\u00e9rminos econ\u00f3mico y en trabajo. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eleva significativamente la probabilidad de hallazgos de significado incierto y hallazgos inesperados, por lo que es recomendable la realizaci\u00f3n del estudio en trio para cruzar la informaci\u00f3n familiar de forma automatizada. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equivale aproximadamente a
