The most used in clinical practice is the DSM-V. However, in hospital centers it is coded using the ICD-9 and ICD-10 system. There are some discrepancies between them, especially when it comes to neurodevelopmental problems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among them: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Retraso_simple_del_lenguaje\">Simple language delay<\/a><\/strong> (understood as that delay in the onset of language, not associated with other neurodevelopmental problems, with normal clinical examination, and which after the appearance of the first words presents a succession of normative milestones, finally conditioning a delay of no more than 2 years, and normal language around 5 years). <strong>This diagnosis does not exist as such.<\/strong> The diagnostic code that refers to this concept is <strong>R62.0, Late skill development in childhood<\/strong>, within which they include: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Delay of the expected physiological development stage. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>speech delay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delay in walking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Global developmental delay<\/strong> (understood as a developmental delay that affects 2 or more domains of development (motor, language, cognition, socialization, adaptive), and which is the equivalent of the English term \"global developmental delay\", and included within the DSM-V (315.8 (<strong>F88<\/strong>)). In many manuals of medical tradition, it is considered a synonym for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pediatriaintegral.es\/publicacion-2020-09\/deteccion-y-manejo-del-retraso-psicomotor-en-la-infancia-2\/\"><strong>psychomotor delay<\/strong><\/a>, a term especially widespread in neuropediatric manuals to refer to development problems in children under 2 years of age (hence the term psychomotor, since the development observable especially in the first 12 months of life is predominantly motor). <strong>This diagnostic term does not exist as such.<\/strong> It should also be coded as <strong>R62.0, Late skill development in childhood<\/strong>, if we look at developmental delay as a symptom, or as <strong>G93.40, Static encephalopathy (encephalopathy, unspecified)<\/strong>, in the event that there is an identifiable cause limited in time that has left the development problem as a sequel; or like <strong>F88, Other disorders of psychological development<\/strong>, which is the diagnosis with which it is correlated in the DSM-V itself, which includes: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developmental agnosia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other specified neurodevelopmental disorder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Global developmental delay. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a computerized version for searching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eciemaps.mscbs.gob.es\/ecieMaps\/browser\/index_10_mc.html\">https:\/\/eciemaps.mscbs.gob.es\/ecieMaps\/browser\/index_10_mc.html<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are several diagnostic coding systems.
