Referral criteria:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Urgent Referral: Acute headache with alarm symptoms such as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vomiting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neurological focus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Progressive headache.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sudden headache of maximum intensity from the beginning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Affectation of the level of consciousness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fever or meningismus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bilateral papilledema.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cHigh resolution\u201d referral:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Headache in patients with ventriculoperitoneal shunt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Headache in children with diseases predisposing to the appearance of CNS tumors (tuberous sclerosis, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-lumbar puncture headache.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preferential Referral:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chronic daily headache of recent onset (&gt;14 episodes\/month for more than 3 months, without previous history of headache).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Headache due to abuse of analgesics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trigeminoautonomic headache.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trigeminal neuralgia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ordinary Referral:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Migraine with aura.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Migraine without frequent episodic aura (&gt;1 episode per week for more than 3 months).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frequent episodic tension headache (&gt;1 episode per week for more than 3 months).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chronic migraine (&gt;14 episodes\/month for more than 3 months).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Referral NOT indicated:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Infrequent episodic migraine without aura (&lt;1 episode per week).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Infrequent episodic tension headache (&lt;1 episode per week).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-infectious headache.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Minimum data of the interconsultation:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Headache calendar for at least 3 months. It is a priority to know the frequency of the episodes in order to identify the reason for the consultation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reason for consultation (among those stipulated in the referral criteria).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Directed family history (particularly of migraine).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal background.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal history of paroxysmal disorders compatible with migraine equivalent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ophthalmological problems and review by ophthalmology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pharmacological treatment, especially the taking of analgesics and their frequency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clinical examination. Head circumference in children under 6 years of age. Neurological examination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complementary explorations carried out. Analysis with iron metabolism (not necessary if you have one in the last year).<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1. Referral criteria: 2.
