Referral criteria:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"yui_3_18_1_1_1715325174289_149\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Emergency referral:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children under 24 months of age with progressive increase in head circumference in successive measurements and acute neurological alarm symptoms (tensioned fontanelle, vomiting, headache, neurological focality, alteration of neurodevelopment).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Referral to \u201cHigh Resolution\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children under 24 months with progressive head shape disorder (craniosynostosis).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preferential Referral:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children under 24 months with shape or size disorder and comorbid chronic neurological symptoms (abnormal neurodevelopment).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ordinary Referral:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children under 24 months with shape or size disorder without comorbid neurological symptoms (normal neurodevelopment).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over 24 months with head shape or size disorder (with or without comorbid neurological symptoms).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NOT indicated referral:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Familial macrocephaly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Isolated postural plagiocephaly (normal neurodevelopment).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Macrocephaly or isolated harmonic microcephaly (normal neurodevelopment).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measurement errors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Minimum data of the interconsultation:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Family history of neurodevelopmental disorders, consanguinity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social background. Socio-family situation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perinatal history.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development history. It should include a screening of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/neuropediatrialafe.org\/moodle\/mod\/resource\/view.php?id=61\">Haizea-Llevant<\/a>\u00a0if the suspicion is developmental delay, and a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autismspeaks.org\/deteccion-temprana\">M-CHAT<\/a>\u00a0if the suspicion is autism spectrum disorder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neurological examination, including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/neuropediatoolkit.org\/en\/valoracion-del-crecimiento-cefalico\/\">Successive measurements of head circumference<\/a>\u00a0(at least 3).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successive measurements of cranial diameters using a craniometer (at least 2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Head circumference of father and mother.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transfontanelar ultrasound in children under 12 months of age with progressive macrocephaly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
