Exploration neurocutaneous.

Skin examination in pediatric neurology seeks to identify those dermatological clinical manifestations that may be associated with pediatric neurological diseases, and this occurs by several mechanisms:

• For being part of the clinical manifestations of a neurocutaneous disease genetically based (genodermatosis).
  • There is a embryological base that explains the relationship between skin diseases and neurological diseases, and there is a special subtype of these diseases called neurocristopathies.
• For being part of the consequences of behavioral disorders.
  • Conduct disorders leading to self-harm.
  • Eating disorders that produce restrictive behaviors and as a consequence deficiency diseases with dermatological manifestations.

Search for skin symptoms.

• Related to the keratinization of the skin. Neuroictiosis.
• Related to hair structure. Neurotrichosis.
• Phycomatosis (hamartomatoneoplastic diseases).
• Related to the cutaneous pigmentation
• Related to underlying vascular malformations.
• The genetic mosaics may present with skin manifestations that allow them to be identified.
